1. Did this indicator light appear when the ignition was switched on? Or did it appear while the engine was running?

With ignition on: It is normal for this lamp to appear for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on to signify that the glow plugs are preheating.

While the engine was running: There is a fault in the engine management system if the lamp appears constantly or flashes while the engine is running. Drive slowly and carefully to an authorised repairer without delay and have the engine checked.
